Areas Related to Circles
Medium trendapprox. 4 marksSections A/C/D — a 1-mark arc-or-sector recall, a sector/segment numerical, and a sector/segment application (a grazing or shaded-segment problem).

Perimeter and Area of a Circle — A Review1–4 marks
Use C = 2πr and A = πr² for circle and wheel problems — the distance covered in one revolution is the circumference, so revolutions = distance ÷ circumference.
Radius from a given circumference, diameter or area1–2 marks
Convert a given circumference, diameter or area into the radius you actually need.
Length of an arc of a sector (l = (θ/360)×2πr)1–3 marks
Find arc length or the sector's perimeter (arc + two radii) in one step.
Area of a sector (A = (θ/360)×πr²)2–3 marks
Turn a central angle and radius straight into the sector's area.
Area of a segment (sector area − area of triangle)3–5 marks
Split a shaded design into standard pieces: subtract the triangle from the sector to get a minor segment; add it for the major.
